Choosing to study Acupuncture at ICOM means coming to a friendly and cosy environment where you will feel guided and supported during the very fascinating journey of self-development and discovery, which also requires hard work and passion for Chinese Medicine and its applications.
East Grinstead is in the South East of England, in West Sussex, and also very close to the Surrey and East Sussex borders, with many beautiful landscapes and villages, but also well connected to London by railway and less than an hour from the lively sea town Brighton. Some useful information about the area can be found on the WestSussex.info website.
Some students move to East Grinstead during the duration of the course, some prefer to commute (from as far as France) and only stay in East Grinstead when they are required to attend classes or other events. Usually there is a good offer of rooms and flats to rent in and around East Grinstead. Many of our students prefer to live on the coast in the very lively city of Brighton, which is approx. 30 miles / 49 km away. Information about Brighton can be found in the VisitBrighton website.
European Students are very welcome to email our office to obtain information about the area and generally about studying in the UK. If you come from another European country, you can find practical advice and information on visas, scholarships, money, accommodation, health, safety, travel and more on the British Council Website. You can also find details about life in the UK and places to visit on EducationUK. If your first language is not English, it is important that your standard of English (reading, writing, speaking and listening) is high enough for successful completion of a degree as you will need to have both the language and academic skills to be able to cope with degree level study.
Mature students are very welcome. We are also very keen to hear from people who lack in formal qualifications, but can demonstrate enthusiasm, determination, and experience which suggest that they have an equal opportunity to succeed on the programme.
International Students – We regret that we are currently unable to accept International Students on our Honours Degree Acupuncture Course. We are completing the procedures which will enable us to have students from all over the world on our renowned courses. Licentiate Acupuncturists however are very welcome to visit us and attend one of our quality CPD events.
Our advice to anyone considering a career in acupuncture is to come and visit ICOM, have a feel of the college and the town, attend one of our Open Days to find out more about our courses, have an informal chat with our Students’ administrators, check our entry requirements, fees and payment options.
