There are many reasons to choose ICOM for your Acupuncture training. Here are just some of them. Come along to our next open day and you’ll discover many more…
- You will study at the UK’s longest established Acupuncture training college. We have trained first class Acupuncturists for fifty years.
- You’ll also learn all of the acupuncture points, all the channels and all their connections, not just some of them.
- Much of our teaching is now online which allows you a great deal of additional flexibility if you’re juggling studies with other commitments. If you are joining us in the Autumn 2024 intake, fifty per cent of your learning will be online. You will only be required to attend in person every other week.
- Our reputation and high standards. We often get enquiries from members of the public looking for an ICOM-trained Acupuncturist in their area. Upon completion of our Acupuncture course, you will be awarded a Licentiate in Acupuncture through the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board (BAAB) giving you access to the register of the British Acupuncture Council. The BAcC’s register is vetted and approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA) which protects the public by overseeing the regulation and registration of healthcare professionals and ensures safety and standards of practice.
- We are a small, friendly college and you’ll soon feel like part of the ICOM family.
- We keep our classes small so that you receive all the support you need, particularly in the practical classes.
- You can choose to study our Acupuncture training course either full time (3 years) or you can study part time (4-5 years).
- We do not charge you an application fee and you can apply all year round.
- No formal qualifications? You’ll still be considered for a place on our Acupuncture training course. We treat all applicants equally in terms of academic suitability. We also value your life experience, commitment, enthusiasm, determination and motivation.
- We are internationally renowned for our philosophical and practical application of the Stems and Branches theory which is unique to ICOM.
- You don’t have to find your own patients for student clinics. We will find them for you, allowing you to concentrate on your studies.
- You’ll have more fully supervised one-to-one patient consultations than at any other institution.
- You will be allocated a personal tutor who will support you for the duration of the course.
- We offer clinic opportunities after graduation at ICOM Clinic.
- Upon graduation you are eligible to join our postgraduate support scheme, ICOM+ which offers monthly workshops and discussion, plus a discount on ICOM CPDs.
- After graduation there are opportunities to volunteer with charities in Myanmar, Nepal and Sri Lanka, providing Acupuncture to some of the poorest people in the world.
