Description

Felip Caudet treating a patient using Fukaya moxibustion techniqueA very particular style of moxa that enjoys great recognition in the world of acupuncture and Japanese moxibustion is the Style of Fukaya (Fukayakyu). Considered in many ways as a qualitative improvement in traditional practice. Its numerous and rapid clinical results contributed at a time when health resources were limited. Fukaya’s style is considered one of the most specific styles that exists in Japanese moxibustion.

The creation of a tool like the bamboo tube, or Fukaya’s tube, brought a lot of satisfaction to the patients who were treated with moxibustion, since that diminished one of the most annoying aspects traditionally, the burning sensation.

Isaburo Fukaya was an exclusive moxibustion practitioner, that is, he didn’t use any more techniques. His respect for classical texts and his great intellectual capacity allowed him a deep study and high-level practice. This and other aspects made him a great connoisseur of the behaviour of moxa in the body. In his great practical development, he treated thousands of patients throughout his extensive professional life, and this provided him with an exceptional clinical eye. The understanding of the moxibustion that the master Fukaya had and considered that deserves special attention because he was the last notorious Master of Modern times.
